It all started with Al Hampton destroying the tranny in the Kondolay’s dragster last weekend. Then this week, Joe “Top Wop” Mura was stupid kind enough to offer up his Mullis digger for Hampton to run at MRP. Turns out Hampton goes and blowed-up Mura’s trans too! Nobody knows for sure, but we’re beginning to think that The Midget might just be thinking “Dammit, if I can’t have a dragster, then nobody can.”
Kondolay cylinder head damage (arrows) caused by 1/8" allen key chunk (circled)
In allegedly unrelated news, the Kondolay’s are in a mad thrash this week repairing the wounded bullet from the dragster. The mill had lost some of it’s grunt, and after tearing the heads off, they found it had been bitten by some FOD (Foreign Object Damage). They found damage caused by a chunk of 1/8″ allen key that—after bouncing around beating the bejesus out of everything—eventually lodged into the deck of the cylinder head.
To be clear, there is no proof that Hampton is actually responsible for hucking an allen key down the throat of the big block, but lets face it; it was an Allen key. Not a Jim key. Not a Steve key. Not an anybody-else-that-is-not-named-allen key.
So please, dragster drivers: be on the look out for disgruntled guy who appears to be smuggling bacon across his forehead. It just might be the Dragster Slayer looking for another victim.
You’ve been warned.

Apparently, last weekend at Mission Raceway Park there was a little bit of car swappin’ going on!
First off, the Kondolay’s strapped blocks to the pedals and put a phone book under the seat cushion of Stephan’s digger so that “Little Al” Hampton would be able to see over the cowl. Once that was taken care of, Hampton jumped in and clicked off a 7.72 ET—good enough to upgrade his license! In the first round of Super Combo, Hampton—still in the dragster—was robbed when the sun reflecting off his shit-eating grin caused a red light. The day could have ended much worse for him though when his boner got in the way of steering off track onto the return road. Boing!
Speaking of the Kondolays, Stephan predicted he’d win Super Pro and did just that on Saturday. But Sunday morning he beat up the transmission in the dragster and it was done for the weekend. In the second car swap of the weekend, Stephan jumped in Pete Bereditsch’s bitchin’ Camaro for Super Pro. Unfortunately, the old man’s tranny couldn’t take the beating and expired in the third round. When Stephan hit the burner, the car backed out of the beams for an automatic red light. Even with the loss, Stephan Kondolay is leading this seasons S/Pro points!
In other news, Zak Clarke is apparently tired of playing on the ‘slow’ side of the Door Slammer ladder. He plans on dominating the ‘Dingers with a little more grunt in the Beretta this year. Zak’s quote: “It’s got the chirp!” He’ll have the Beretta and it’s new big-inch bullet out this weekend at MRP. I wonder if Zak will need to change his pants after the first blast?
Oh yeah… did you hear the news? They found MacKenzie’s trailer! 😉

Zak sent this in via text message:
Ken “Numba 1” Orser, Joe “Top Wop” Mura, Stefan “The Robot” Kondolay and myself are en route to the NHRA Division 6 ET Finals in Boise, Idaho to represent Team On A Mission. Hopefully, one of us wins and earns a spot in the NHRA World Finals in Pomona, California!

The Kondolay’s got to put a little bit back in the bank this weekend after Stefan’s win at the $50,000 Pacific Sportsman National Drags in Seattle . It took 8 rounds to finish Saturday’s Super Pro class, but they walked away with $10,000 for their efforts.
Nice job and congrats from Surrey In A Hurry. Now maybe they can afford some brakes for the golf cart…

Just got word of the results of Super Gas and Top Comp from the rain delayed Lordco Auto Parts NHRA National Open Double Header. Originally scheduled at Eagle motorplex almost 2 months ago MRP was the site of the make up of the S/G an T/C classes.
